Tigray Advocacy Committee (TAC)
About Us
The Tigray Advocacy Committee (TAC) is a unified body dedicated to coordinating and strengthening global advocacy efforts on behalf of the people of Tigray. TAC was established to address the lack of cohesion and consistency across advocacy work and social media messaging related to Tigray.
By bringing together advocates, community leaders, and organizations under one coordinated structure, TAC ensures that our collective voice is strategic, impactful, and centered on justice, truth, and the well-being of the Tigrayan people.
Our Mission
Our mission is to unify and amplify advocacy for Tigray by developing coordinated strategies, messaging, and campaigns that promote justice, humanitarian aid, recognition of atrocities, and sustainable peace.
Our Vision
We envision a global Tigrayan advocacy movement that speaks with one voice — organized, consistent, and powerful in driving awareness, policy influence, and tangible support for Tigray and its people.
Our Objectives
Unified Advocacy Messaging: Create consistent, evidence-based messaging that all organizations and advocates can adopt and share.
Strategic Planning and Coordination: Develop annual and issue-specific advocacy plans focused on areas such as genocide recognition, humanitarian relief, reconstruction, and political accountability.
Capacity Building: Provide members with resources, verified materials, and training to strengthen advocacy efforts.
Information Verification: Ensure all messaging is factual, transparent, and representative of the realities faced by Tigrayans.
Global Collaboration: Build bridges between Tigrayan advocates, international organizations, media, and policymakers to maximize impact.
Our Structure
Executive Board
The Executive Board leads TAC’s vision, sets priorities, and ensures all advocacy efforts align with our mission.
Board Positions:
Chairperson: Provides overall leadership and direction, oversees strategic initiatives, and represents TAC publicly.
Vice Chairperson: Supports the Chairperson and helps coordinate efforts across committees and member organizations.
Secretary: Maintains official records, manages communication, and ensures transparency in decision-making.

Communications Director: Leads media strategy, messaging consistency, and content development.
Policy & Research Director: Manages research, data collection, and the development of advocacy briefs and reports.
Outreach & Partnerships Director: Builds partnerships, coordinates collaborations, and expands TAC’s global reach.

How We Work
The Executive Board, in collaboration with committees and members, develops unified advocacy priorities and campaigns around key themes, including genocide recognition, humanitarian aid, accountability, and peacebuilding.
Once a unified position or plan is approved, members and partner organizations are encouraged to integrate it into their advocacy work, ensuring consistent and coordinated messaging across all platforms.
TAC operates transparently and collaboratively through regular meetings, consultations, and open communication channels. Our strength lies in unity — when we move together, our message is louder, clearer, and more effective.
Our Commitment
The Tigray Advocacy Committee exists to ensure that every voice advocating for Tigray contributes to a single, powerful movement. Through coordination, consistency, and collaboration, TAC works to secure justice, humanitarian support, and lasting peace for the people of Tigray.
